2018 Junior Investigator of the Year
Award Recipient

The Institute for Clinical and Translational Science is pleased to announce the 2018 Junior Investigator of the Year Awardee. This award is given to an exceptional UC Irvine investigator whose work is broadly focused on the biomedical sciences. The awardee is an individual who has contributed substantial new insights and knowledge in the pursuit of improving human health and has linked basic science with clinical application.

Dr. Do received his MD at the University of California (UC), Riverside/Los Angeles Thomas Haider Biomedical Sciences Program in 2006. He completed residency training in neurology in 2010 at UC Irvine, and a fellowship in SCI medicine in a joint program at UC Irvine/Long Beach VA Medical Center/Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center in 2011. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at UC Irvine. His research is in developing and applying brain-computer interface technology to help people with paralysis due to neurological injuries to improve or regain motor function. He has received grants from the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health to support these ongoing research efforts.
